Stargrave in Frostgrave

 

So, this game happened in August and I didn’t take an overview picture or really anything other than close ups of the action.

The end of the previous game/scenario found our two groups fleeing a reactor core meltdown of the derelict warship they were fighting over.  Little did they know that I third set of looters, Skulker brigands had arrived but not boarded the ship before the massive explosion.  All three ships were flung into a rift in space created by the explosion.  They found themselves in orbit around a mysterious planet.  Sensors indicated intelligent life below.  After many sensor readings, probes and images of the planet, the crews gleaned that there was quite a bit of activity in the far frozen north around an area the locals called Felstad…or the Frozen City of Frostgrave.  And the ship of Skulker brigands that had been flung here with our two crews were already planet side and looting!

Captain Oliver and Captain Nik convened a quick meeting, formed a tentative truce and gathered landing parties and down to Frostgrave they went…would the truce hold?.

This game was born out of my sons desire to use all of my fantasy/medieval city terrain for a game.  And the bad guy Skulker rats where my kitbashed space skaven I use for 5 Parsecs From Home.

It was much fun….

 After eyeing Nik's crew, the flama Ork cleanses a Skulker rat that jumped at in from the nearby building

 

 Nik's crewman jumps the wall and takes out a rat about to shoot the flama Ork....let's be friends!

 

 Oliver's crew surrounds the Skulker banner rat....this turned into a laughable turn after turn of them trying to take him out and him hitting back....the crew kept rolling literally 1 thru 5 on a d20 and the rat kept rolling around 20....so dumb....

 

Die rat, die! 

 

 Hearing all the gun fire, Nik's sniper aims and takes out the banner rat..

 

 

 

 Nik (top pic) and his space dwarf champion (bottom) go in for the kill to stop the Skulker rats from making off with the loot!

 All and all a fun end to a summer Stargrave campaign!

Infinity and Warsenal

 

For some reason and I really don’t know why, I have not posted to my blog in forever.  And somehow, I gained two followers?  Wow, thanks. 

So here is a little update as I need to post the final Stargrave campaign battle from the summer with my son but also need to get those images ready first.

My painting has tapered off a bit, but I have also gotten more into the Infinity/ Corvus Belli line of miniatures.  They are perfect for my 5 Parsecs game (need to get that back going too) and I generally just really dig the aesthetic and lore.  I’m not sure I will ever play the game though.

I also got a bit obsessed with cool sci fi cyberpunk-esque terrain and bought a bunch of Warsenal color printed buildings during last years Cybermonday sale (yup, a year ago) then some more in the summer and finally have it all built. 

So below are some of the mini’s I painted over the summer along with the buildings from Warsenal -

These guys are some bots I printed for a game I am playing with friends....Eclipse Phase.  These are supposed to be basic case-morphs.  

 

They are from Skull Forge Studios 

 

The Warsenal terrain looks really great on the table top and is easy to assemble.

 

Going to try to get the finaly Stargrave battle up this week, was a really fun one.
